500 Days of Summer

in all honesty, i think this is the best love story of our modern era. just because the love story within the plot is actually realistic. guy falls in love with girl, girl doesn’t fall in love with the guy. they teeter in this uneasy state of not yet being in a relationship but not just friends either. in a way they become FWB’s and the sad result of it is one of them falling in love with the other while the other shares no similar feelings. In the end hearts get broken, but lessons are learned. the true definition of “love” and “soulmates” are realized and the two actually do benefit from being with each other. Tom learns not to fall so hard so fast and Summer learns to have faith in true love. the two part ways but they both find love in another person. it’s a bittersweet love story, but it’s a true love story that’s realistic enough for everyone in the real world to relate to.
